DULWICH CHESS CLUB

Dulwich chess club is a very recently formed chess club in the United Kingdom. It is located in East London. Its former name is Dulwich plough. According to the club authorities, it is a very fast growing chess club. At present it has about thirty members. They range from amateurs to professionals. The club members call their club as the friendliest chess club.

One can improve their game of chess by playing a variety of games, and participating in lots of tournaments and in competitions. One can play league chess, casual chess and also can participate in in-house tournaments, which are organized to hone one’s skills in preparing for different strategies and tactics.

The Dulwich chess club organizes many tournaments, one among them is “The Third Gerald Duncumb Memorial open”. Five to six rounds are played with a maximum time period of twenty minutes for each game. The winner of this tournament would receive seventy pounds and the Gerald Duncumb trophy. The best placed player who is graded below 130 BCF receives a cash prize if 30 pounds. Any one can participate in this tournament, but they should be either a member of Dulwich chess club or any certified member of any other club.

Dulwich chess club also participates in competitions like the London chess league, Middlesex chess league, and Surrey chess league. Though they haven’t won any trophies this year, the club authorities are confident in putting up a better show in the upcoming seasons.
